Greed is a steaming pile of dung!!
Brian from Louth, 11 Feb 2011
This is a question to anyone that can remember Wall Street the original...What do you think will happen when Gordon Gekko gets out of prison? What if he meets a young yuppie trader and gets access to huge funds of money? What if that yuppie is the moronic over used & under-talented Shia Le Buff? You guessed it! That and nothing else despite never-ending what ifs. Oliver Stone must have had a severe stroke and told no-one because this is a bucket of gibberish.

Nowhere near the original
Regina from Meath, 14 Feb 2011
I actually found myself wanting to fast forward through this moving.. that tells you everything. Very, very disappointing, was really looking forward to this movie but it is nowhere as good as the original. Maybe if you haven't seen the original and go in with no expectations then yes you might enjoy this movie.

Money never sleeps, but I did!
Gary from Kildare, 12 Apr 2011
Maybe Money never sleeps, but I did. Apart from the shedding some light on the latest banking debacle this movie shows none of the pinnache of its predecessor. All be it for a cameo (more like walk on) roll from Charlie Sheen there are no comparisons to the 1987 Classic.

Awful
Maria from Louth, 21 Mar 2011
I couldn't actually remember the original when I watched this, but I remember that it was good, so I had high expectations. This movie is awful in the sense that it doesn't do itself justice. They could have made it cooler. It has no suspense, and the ending is ridiculous. It also seems like a big lecture on the banking crisis. A bit depressing!

Disappointing
Nicola from Leitrim, 15 Sep 2011
We were disappointed in this film, I know a remake is never as good as the original and that was proved again here, so obvious how the plot was going to go and not near as edgy as the original, watchable but not great

Boring and long
Sebastien from Dublin, 19 Mar 2012
The story is not really intriguing. the choice of actors it's questionable (apart from Michael Douglas who for obvious reasons is in it). The female character is inexistent and not developed at all. The young fella is too young and not credible and/or convincing at all. The movie is unnecessarily long and slow while too fast in some key points where stuff could have been explained better in order for the viewers to draw conclusions.

Fast moving
leona from Dublin, 30 Jan 2011
The film critcics universally gave this the thumbs down but if you're old enough to been around for 'Wall st' then this is a must see, even for Michael Douglas alone and the magnificent shots of NYC. Bud Fox (Charlie Sheen) makes a short appearance to add to the glamour.Oliver Stone makes a good shot at remaking the Lehman scenes. I liked it.

Better than expected
Conor from Cork, 25 Jul 2011
I never saw the original movie, but from reviews that i read the new Wall Street wasnt as good as the old one. But to my surprise i actually found the new version better than i expected it to be! although the last few scenes are a bit crap i did enjoy it overall. it is a very fast moving film but the end is a little too unrealistic for me
