The year is 2700 and the Earth is polluted, baron and exhausted. Wall-E is the last of a group of clean-up robots, sent to restore the Earth by lifting and compressing the endless quantities of rubbish left behind by a human race that has withdrawn to the safety of space. Wall-E spends every day doing what he was made for on the lonely, silent Earth. His only companion is his trusty pet cockroach, Spot. But soon, he will discover what he was meant for as he chases his dream across the galaxy.

45 out of 100 Wonderful!
Lyn from Cork, 28 Jan 2009
This is a truly wonderful film with a great and loving message for us all! I loved the Disney nods to other film greats e.g. Titanic and 2001 A Space Oddysey and the extra shorts were wonderful too. May well end up buying this as it is the classic of its kind

45 out of 100 Fantastic Film.
Alan from Dublin, 19 Feb 2009
Excellent childrens film trying to get an environmental message over about the way we treat our planet. That said, its a very entertaining watch, the kids will love it and watch over again and again.

Brilliant. A family movie that both kids and parents can enjoy ! You can't help but fall in love with this bag of bolts as he falls in love, travels the universe and...I won't spoil it for you.

25 out of 100 Worth hearing more than it's worth seeing
Adrian from Dublin, 17 Jun 2011
Sigourney Weaver provides the voice for the computer. Other than that, the only notable thing about this film is that the sound design is by Ben Burtt (of Star Wars fame), and as a result the film experience has a rich texture that you wouldn't expect from the cartoony computer-generated images. The plot itself is solidly Disney (in this case, Love Will Free You From Your Humdrum Life) but the film starts in an undeniably dystopian vision of an abandoned Earth filled with rubbish and rusting advertising hoardings for the world's last megacorporation. If you thought R2D2 was cute, you'll like this.

40 out of 100 Surprisingly good
Conor from Louth, 28 Apr 2009
I didn't even realise this movie was on my list, so was a bit miffed when it arrived in the post. But i was pleasantly surprised. Normally i don't like these animated movies which are made for kids but clearly target an older audience. This is actually a very well crafted film, with little in terms of dialogue but with a poignant message and real heart.

5 out of 100 Wall.e
Julia from Dublin, 03 Mar 2009
Could not watch the whole movie - and i have to say, that's very rare. And I love "slow" movies that rely on image and other forms of comunicating rather than dialogs most of the time. I do like and get the message, but this was a very boring way to put it out there. I can't even say anything else, since I only watched half of it...

50 out of 100 Fantastic
Monica from Dublin, 27 Mar 2011
I love this movie, it has everything, is funny, is heartwarming, has action, love, suspense, great animation... & awesome extras (Burn-e is the funniest short, EVER). How can anyone write a bad review about this movie I'll never know. Kids will love it but so will adults. I bought the DVD, for myself, never mind the kids!
