From Jason Reitman, the Oscar nominated director of "Juno," comes a dramatic comedy called Up in the Air starring Oscar winner George Clooney as Ryan Bingham, a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching ten million frequent flyer miles and after he's met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.

10 out of 100 Not for single people
Joanna from Dublin, 16 Nov 2010
I'm not a big fan of schmaltsy happy endings, but I found this film really depressing and wouldn't recommend it for single people. George Clooney is excellent in the lead role and it is a well paced intersting film, which I liked right up to the last minute. And it's not even the main plot that's depressing (don't worry I won't spoil the plot), it is the end montage of quotes from people that have been fired by Clooney's character, saying they couldn't have got through it without their fam

35 out of 100 This ain't no Die Hard!
Paul from Wicklow, 01 Sep 2010
First up, this ain’t no ‘Die Hard 4’ point whatever. This is a George Clooney movie, think ‘Michael Clayton’, think ‘Solaris’. It’s a slow burning human drama with first-rate performances and a character driven plot. Ryan Bingham (Clooney) is a smug and supercilious professional terminator (he fires people for a living). He spends 320 days a year ‘Up In The Air’ travelling light with his cabin bag from one assignment to another. He even manages to squeeze in some time on the lecturing circuit gi

35 out of 100 Heard bad things but not that bad
Shane from Galway, 10 Jun 2010
I was'nt expecting much for this 1 but i found myself enjoying a film about a guy who fires people for a living. clooney was his usual charming self. good chemistry with the romantic interest. funny tit for tat with the new girl who arrears constipated when it comes to dealing with real people. definately worth a look.

40 out of 100 Enjoyable
Arlene from Wexford, 20 Aug 2010
This is an enjoyable movie and George Clooney did a fine job in main male role. The two female characters were both great and almost steal the movie from George! Movie does get you thinking about certain things, what is really important in life, and how we all treat each other.

35 out of 100 Not as good as i though it would be
Nicola from Leitrim, 23 Sep 2010
I have to admit i was a bit disappointed with this film, having waited for it to arrive for along time, i probably had it built up to be better than it was. Anna hendrck was good and George was his usual suave self, but it was better than alot of films lately that I have seen

Flight Attendant: Would you like the cancer? Ryan Bingham: What? Flight Attendant: Would you like the can, sir? That just about sums it up
