10 out of 100 Turned it off half way through
Andrew from Dublin, 10 Nov 2009
Very disappointing. I loved Sin City so my expectations were high for this one and with Samuel L Jackson as the baddie i was sure i was on to a winner. I give the first half 2 stars as i turned it off after that. Very slow, after 60 minutes i still didn't care about any of the characters or the story. the Vizual style was nice (same as sin city) but there is no HD audio stream which for a Blu-Ray is rare and just lazy. Avoid.

35 out of 100 I liked it, despite the reviews
John from Donegal, 05 Jan 2010
A vigilante who cannot die protects a city from the archvillan The Octopus. Really enjoyed this film, am a fan of the comics, and the film pretty much follows these. It received pretty bad reviews but I found it very entertaining. Filmed in a similar way to Sin City, but there the similarity ends. The plot and dialogue is a bit lame in places, but as long as you're not expecting shakespeare, its a fun hour and a half.

15 out of 100 The Spirit
Rachel from Meath, 16 Jul 2009
Read poor reviews but decided to watch it anyway just to decide for myself. It was quite poor and definately the worst acting I've seen from Scarlett Johannson. If it was the first of these types of movies we'd seen it might have been more spectacular, but the story just couldn't carry the movie.

0 out of 10 Sin City it ain't!
Cathy from Kildare, 13 Jul 2009
Heard bad reviews of this on it's cinema release but added it to queue for the other half who liked the look of the trailer. He suggested just turning it off after 20 mins!! Dreadful. Makes no sense, and doesn't seem to feel the need to bother with a plot.......
