David Fincher's The Social Network is the stunning tale of a new breed of cultural insurgent: a punk genius who sparked a revolution and changed the face of human interaction for a generation, and perhaps forever. Shot through with emotional brutality and unexpected humour, this superbly crafted film chronicles the formation of Facebook and the battles over ownership that followed upon the website's unfathomable success. With a complex, incisive screenplay by Aaron Sorkin and a brilliant cast including Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake, The Social Network bears witness to the birth of an idea that rewove the fabric of society even as it unravelled the friendship of its creators.

35 out of 100 Good film tho not a 'great film'
Nicola from Leitrim, 18 Mar 2011
I was expecting a lot from this film, what with all the hype it had around oscar time. so maybe i set my expectations too high, dont get me wrong it was a good watchable film. Though the talking in it was very fast and i found it hard to understand the characters sometimes as they were talking so fast! My husband hates facebook and he wasnt expecting to enjoy it but he did so dont let the fact that it was about the start of facebook , stop you from watching this film.

Very disapointing. Boring, I turned it off half way through the movie. Don't know why it got an Oscar.

40 out of 100 F***book
Philip from Dublin, 15 Jan 2012
The sort of film that could have been awful, but is actually really good, and a perfect document of how rapidly social networking has become so dominant today. The film is unsparing and quite brilliant at showing how a group of really quite socially inadequate and unpleasant young men have shaped all our social lives. Its very entertaining and very smart.

10 out of 100 First Rental
ann from Meath, 16 Mar 2011
First DVD received via Screenclick. Did exactly as it said on the tin. Arrived via post next day. Good clean copy of Dvd a big plus. Shop street stores are not great. As for the Movie a real talkie movie but it crabbed me into it and I really enjoyed the story of Facebook (not a fan of these sites) amazing to see how this guy came up with the idea.

45 out of 100 Excellent
Dominic from Cork, 07 Apr 2011
Really good, every performance in this is bang on, no-one sticks out like a sore thumb! soundtrack is really good although in no way did it deserve to win best soundtrack from inception. hard to know was Mark Zuckerberg really as bad as he is portrayed in this but makes for good entertainment nonetheless.

25 out of 100 Good enough
Eimear from Cork, 17 May 2011
It was good enough. Nice story, a little predictable but nicely done...except that Windows Vista didn't exist in 2003...the rest is somewhat coherent. The music is splendid. Has to be seen if you like FB, you can give it a miss otherwise, there's nothing much about it.

10 out of 100 Facebook
Christine from Kerry, 12 Oct 2011
I like being on FB from time to time but for me the movie was boring to me, very soon I drifted away - too much talking and not my thing. Did not like it at all!

25 out of 100 NOT UP TO MUCH
Donal from Dublin, 31 Aug 2011
Should have had subtitles for the main character. May had been realistic but destroyed the movie for me.
