Nacho (Jack Black) is a young man who was raised in a Mexican monastery in Oaxaca and now works there as the cook, and takes it upon himself to rescue the holy place from financial ruin by joining a local Lucha Libre tournament and becoming one of the 'Luchadores'. Naturally, Nacho isn't acting out of purely altruistic measures, as he wishes to help Sister Encarnacion (Ana de la Reguera), a beautiful Mexican nun who has recently arrived at the monastery, as well as the gaggle of young orphans who live there.

I'd pretty much watch anything but this was pure tripe! Very disappointing from Jack Black.

gillian from Kildare, 20 May 2007
this is possibly the worst film i have ever seen. no joke! jack black should be ashamed of what he called "acting" in the dreadful, incredibly boring piece of trash that he calls a film. do NOT rent.

40 out of 100 Hilarious, but may not appeal to all
Kieran from Dublin, 19 Jun 2007
You'll love it or hate it, but if you liked Napoleon Dynamite, you'll like this too. Lot's of long stares to the camera from people with bad teeth and blank expressions! Jack Black is very good in this, perfect for the role.

Claire from Dublin, 22 Jun 2007
Great film, may not suit everyone's taste - silly humour. Watch out for the corn in the eye!

5 out of 100 Nacho Libre
Cecilia from Kildare, 21 Feb 2008
I love Jack Black in movies and although there were some funny moments it was a complete let down. The story-line never took off and the film was sluggish. Don't waste your time watching this, I'm sorry I did, that's an hour and a half I can never get back. Bad, bad movie!!!!

35 out of 100 Silly but would give you a laugh
Claire from Dublin, 29 Mar 2010
This film is actually quite good! It's more for kids than adults, but would give you a laugh, it's so stupid in parts. You could do a lot worse than this one.

35 out of 100 Silly Fun
John from Mayo, 23 Oct 2007
I must admit I really enjoyed this film. It's very silly, hilarious in parts and overall just a bit of fun. To be approached with an open mind!
