Let the world change you... and you can change the world. In 1952, two young Argentines, Ernesto Guevara and Alberto Granado, set out on a road trip to discover the real Latin America. Ernesto is a 23 year old medical student specializing in leprology, and the rich and complex human and social topography of the Latin American continent. With a highly romantic sense of adventure, the two friends leave their familiar surroundings in Buenos Aires on a rickety 1939 Norton 500. Although the bike breaks down in the course of their eight month journey, they press onward, hitching rides along the way. As they begin to see a different Latin America in the people they meet on the road, the diverse geography they encounter begins to reflect their own shifting perspectives. They continue to the heights of Machu Picchu, where the majestic ruins and the extraordinary significance of the Inca heritage have a profound impact on the young men. As they arrive at a leper colony deep in the Peruvian Amazon, the two are beginning to question the value of progress as defined by economic systems that leave so many people beyond their reach. Their experiences at the colony awaken within them the men they will later become by defining the ethical and political journey they will take in their lives.

50 out of 100 A classic

Che Guevara...we see his face like Christ on many tee-shirts but who was he really? Well, this movie covers his formative years as a medical student when he and his best friend take an old bike and trek thousands of miles around the one land that is South America. It's an enthralling road trip which brings these two well-off people in contact with all the poverty and corruption of the then South American Continent. Funny and touching, this is not to be missed.

45 out of 100 Delightful watch + Great Music

I enjoyed this one. It's a period road movie in Spanish with English subtitles and tells a tale of Che (a medical student) and a pal (a medical pharmacist) who venture by motorbike from their home in Buenos Aries westwards to Chile (over the Andes) and then North to Venezuela. Wonderful scenery, and a nice tale of friendship between the two, plus it shows how Che became politicised through his interactions with South American poor. The music is great too, especially the guitar music on the menu

Another good performance by Gael Garcia. Not sure how accurate the facts are, but it makes enjoyable viewing.

Really enjoyed this Loved the characters but may be slightly prejudiced as relation to Che thro my Dad and his mother so quess I cannot really give an balanced review .....having heard loads of the stories whilst growing up and che has always been a family hero and personal favourite...and an ideal to live up to...Would recommend it just for the characters alone.............
