On the heels of 2005's blockbuster The 40-Year-Old Virgin, writer/director Judd Apatow again mines hilarity from the relatably human in a comedy about a one-night stand with unexpected consequences! Allison Scott (Katherine Heigl) is an up-and-coming entertainment journalist whose 24-year-old life is on the fast track. But it gets seriously derailed when a drunken one-nighter with slacker Ben Stone (Seth Rogen) results in an unwanted pregnancy. Faced with the prospect of going it alone or getting to know the baby's father, Allison decides to give the lovable doof a chance. An overgrown kid who has no desire to settle down, Ben learns that he has a big decision to make with his kid's mom-to-be: will he hit the road or stay in the picture? Courting a woman you've just "Knocked Up," however, proves to be a little difficult when the two try their hands at dating. As they discover more about one another, it becomes painfully obvious that they're not the soul mates they'd hoped they might be!

25 out of 100 Review By Expert Critics, Richie, James, Nadira
Richard from Wicklow, 16 Nov 2008
Richie gave this film a 5.5 out of ten as it was watchable but a bit boring, the lead girl was hot so that kept his interest, also the group of lads bore an uncanny resemblance to his close mates. James gave it a 4.5: James says its not enough funny, long stretches of boredom made him run out into the garden just to stay awake. Nadira 4, (She is Richies girlfriend and was a bit jealous of the hot blonde girl) She felt the film was boring and too much swearing (yawn)

Not bad at all but I'm not big on comedy! Few good laughs here and there!

50 out of 100 Hilarious!
Ginger from Dublin, 27 Mar 2008
This film was one of the funniest I've seen in a long time & it takes alot to truly make me laugh. I was reluctant to see it, as I couldn't see how they could make a film about getting pregnant from a one night stand really come across as clever or original or funny, but they succeeded brilliantly. All my friends were right - it's not a chick flick at all & it's totally original for a pregnancy film. I haven't laughed that hard in ages & my husband & our male mate were laughing even harder!

15 out of 100 Knocked up - Mmmm
Grainne from Dublin, 05 Jun 2008
Was really looking forward to this movie as came highly recommended from my friends but did not enjoy it as found it totally unbelievable. Katherine Heigl was very good in it but the bloke just annoyed me with his childish humour and would never have put the two of them together! Worse films out there but not as good as I though it would be

35 out of 100 Not knocked over
Kevin from Dublin, 10 Jan 2008
I was actually disappointed by this. Possibly I'd heard too much hype about it but I was expecting a lot more laughs. There are a lot of moments where you smile but very few where you laugh out loud. A good enough movie and worth a rent but don't expect to be rolling in the aisles (or sitting room equivalent) every few minutes.

40 out of 100 Knocked Up

I laughed till I cried, that's how funny this film is. Ok a few of the scenes are cringe-worthy and the bad language is unreal but the jokes never stopped coming. And the chemistry between Rogen and Rudd especially when they are out of their heads on magic mushrooms was just so funny. It's an insight into modern relationships (all be it in America) but really so funny. If you don't laugh at this you must be dead!!
