Chuck Ford (Sandler) and Larry Allensworth (James) are the pride of their fire station: two guy's guys always side-by-side and willing to do anything for each other. Salt-of-the-earth widower Larry wants just one thing: to protect his family. His buddy Chuck also wants one thing: to enjoy the single life. Grateful Chuck owes Larry for saving his life in a fire, and Larry calls in that favor big time when civic red tape prevents him from naming his own two kids as his life insurance beneficiaries. All that Chuck has to do is claim to be Larry's domestic partner on some city forms. Easy. Nobody will ever know. But when an overzealous, spot-checking bureaucrat becomes suspicious, the new couple's arrangement becomes a citywide issue and goes from confidential to front-page news. Forced to improvise as love-struck newlyweds, Chuck and Larry must now fumble through a hilarious charade of domestic bliss under one roof. After surviving their mandatory honeymoon and dodging the threat of exposure, the well-intentioned con men discover that sticking together in your time of need is what truly makes a family.

I describe this movie as a typical Adam Sandler movie, just taking it that bit further which makes it even more fun to watch.I was laughing all the way through. If you like Adam Sandler movies you'd definitely like this one.A great night in for all.

30 out of 100 Good fun
Wayne from Kildare, 07 May 2008
I had this on my Rental Queue as a back up in case I didn't get any of my other preferences, so wasn't overly anxious to see it. However, despite how annoying and repetitive Adam Sandler can be, his films are good entertainment value, albeit while highly flawed. The humour is good although the laughs hit and miss, but it is a pretty feel good film and easily passes the time if you're looking to chill out and not concentrate on anything too serious. Suitable for steers and queers alike

Light comedy with a few light comedic punches. If its a laugh out loud comedy you are after, you will not get it from this film. It is still a good entertaining film. The performances are good and Jessica Biel is an added bonus for the men out there as she is quite sexy but simple in this film.

Its a very funny movie, particurlarly guys will find this funny. Adam Sandler plays a bit against his usual type as he is quite a romeo with I think about 7 semi clad women in his room at one stage and a funny "twins" scene at the beginning. All in all a good movie..light entertainment

0 out of 10 Crap
Breffni from Cork, 26 Mar 2008
This has to be one of the worst films I've seen in years. The gags, acting (if you can call it that) in fact everything about this film was lazy, dumb and offensive to any halfwit bored enough to watch it, and I have to include myself in this. Why did I put myself through that drivel? Sandler is way past his best

35 out of 100 Entertaining but with a very real message
Maureen from Cork, 06 Sep 2009
This movie is very entertaining but also shows how people's opinion changes when we choose to let others know if we are different from the 'norm'. Longstanding friends and colleagues changed their attitudes just because Chuck & Larry became a couple.
