I loved this film. Good story and great effects. Kids movie but a really good one that adults will enjoy too.

The City of Ember is created underground to save mankind. Meant to last for 200 years, the details are lost and the inhabitants continue to live in the crumbling city, unaware of why they are there and what is outside.
An excellent plot, most well acted (I think Bill Murray was woefully miscast) the special effects are good, up until the end, then they let the film down. Could have been better done, needed more money spent on it.

A top film for kids although i would recommend you read them the book instead. A lot of the imagination of the book is lost on the screen but it still holds up as an entertaining movie. Dont expect anything to exciting.

Well acted, charming post apocalyptic tale. Came to this movie with low expectations after seeing the reviews, but actually enjoyed the sets, the storyline and Bill Murray. Predictable, but enjoyable. Worth watching.

A good idea for a movie but wasn't fleshed out enough. The set up of the story was far too short and the end seemed to come out of nowhere ! That said the kids would probably enjoy it.

Seemed like a good cast and was going somewhere.. but then it would appear their budget went somewhere also and with a movie set in a sort of post modern mystery world, it needed a bit more fright or something. Panned out really dismally and went on way too long to justify itself! Yawn! Zzzzzzzzz... Sleepsies now!

A great post apocalyptic movie for kids, it had an interesting storyline and some great acting from the kids as well as the seasoned actors.

I liked this movie but parts of the story seem to pop out of no where without explanation. Bill Murray suits the role of the mayor
