The tragic death of the outspoken comedian Bill Hicks, at just 32, cut short the career of a man who had proved himself as having one of the most distinctive voices in comedy. Uncompromising and outrageous Hicks was a sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll comedian. Passionate about his work, his comedy was built on conviction, setting him apart from all other stand-up comedians.
This DVD contains two programmes:
Revelations: Hicks' last live performance, a sell out show at the Dominion Theatre
It's Just A Ride: A celebration of Hicks' comedy including interviews with Eddie Izzard, Sean Hughes, Jay Leno, David Letterman, his fans as well as friends and family.

a masterpiece

i grew up on Bill Hicks. He is a true hero of the post 70's generation. He is insightful, actually he is pure genius. All others are just imitations and poor ones at that. He was a member of a cabal of political comedians (Hicks, Kinison, Leary etc). He actually played in Dublin & to this day i cannot believe i missed him,a minor personal disaster.Sadly both himself and Kinison have passed...but his true comedy genius lives on eg ringing a porn cinema and asking what the movie is about.BAWHAHA!

Bill Hicks - Totally Amazing!!
Una from Mayo, 30 Jul 2007
Had heard of Bill Hicks before but never seen him do his stuff. Well worth watching!!! Interesting combination of 1/2 documentary and 1/2 live show from the Dominion Theatre. He was such an intelligent, educated and hilariously funny comic. Not for those who are sensitive to jokes about government, war, politics, sex - anything really. What an awful pity that he had to die so young.

Bill Hicks - Totally funny
David from Dublin, 30 Jul 2007
This isnt a full stand up show, its actually a documentary about the life & comedy of Bill Hicks, with outtakes from show. But oh man, in the excerpts that they show, he is funny. A classic satirist

hmmmm.......
Eugene from Kerry, 14 Aug 2007
i rented this on the recommendation of a friend who claims that hicks is the funniest comedian of all time, and was the inspiration for dennis leary (whom i love). however after watching this, i would agree that hicks has his moments but they are not really on a par with leary or even for that matter tommy tiernan. an average compilation of his stand up routines with a mediocre and boring documentary about his life with interviews with his mother and family. all in all, not very inspiring.

Stand up at it's hardest

Some of the goat-boy (you'll see) are a bit too close to the, ah, bone for some females but other than that Bill is on top form.
