 Behind The Sun

Golden Globe Award Nominee for Best Foreign Language Film, 'Behind The Sun' is a critically acclaimed story about love, loyalty and the choice a son must make between honoring his family and following his heart. In the Brazilian badlands of 1910, two families are locked in a bloody, generations-old feud. In one family, the oldest remaining son, distressed by the prospect of death and encouraged by his younger brother, begins to question the cycle of violence. Then, a beautiful woman crosses his path and opens his eyes to life outside his culture's rigid code of honor... Stunningly photographed and exquisitely told, this outstanding motion picture masterpiece will transport you to a vastly different place and time!

40 out of 100 In the land of the blind, the one eyed man goes mad
Brock from Limerick, 04 Apr 2011
Very good film that deals with the pointless and beligerent struggle over a piece of barren land. Set in the 1930's, it's age and meaning is timeless. Think "The Field", set in Brazil

Silent, deep movie, shot in incredible pictures. The colours, the environment, the actors....silent, great and deep! And the main actor is sooo hot ;-)

Diarmaid from Wicklow, 27 Mar 2008
beautifully shot, felt like I was in the landscape and with the characters who are brilliantly painted. Not a lot of laughs, but in the end a simple tale
