In order to escape from his drunken father and the widow Douglas, Huck runs away with Jim, an enslaved black man. A fine production made for public television.

Terrible!

This is a really, really long film (at least 3 hours). Probably good in its day - but we did not enjoy it at all!

Not for kids
Ferdia from Dublin

Have to agree with both previous reviews; this is long (and seems longer) and it is certainly not for young kids, with several scenes of Huck getting beaten by his Dad plus a hanging for example. Interesting, historically perhaps, but not an entertaining family evening's viewing.

I thought this was a kids film but actually it was quite dark and not really suitable for my little ones. its an old film, acting a bit wooden so i don't think i can recommend it
