35 out of 100 Like a french Schindlers List
Conor from Louth, 16 Nov 2008
Very watchable movie, set over the various key points of french jew growing up during and after the war. The film switches between the present day and the main characters up bringing, as slowly revealed by his parents friend, which neatly and intricately pieces together his mysterious visions of an invisible friend...

Engaging story mostly focused around a little boy growing up and discovering the history of his parent's relationship and the difference between his dreamed up romantic vision and the reality.

30 out of 100 A secret
Iain from Dublin, 17 Oct 2008
Based during 3 separate decades including during the nazi regime. This film is slow moving but has enough of a story to keep you watching and for that reason is worth the watch

40 out of 100 A delight
Eugene from Kerry, 26 Feb 2011
It's been a long time since I've seen a movie that surprised me. It's very well acted and the story unfolds quietly unpredictably. A movie that occupied a sizable portion of my conscience for several days after watching it. Even now there are some images that burn clear in my mind. A rarity in todays movie world.

35 out of 100 No Secret
James from Dublin, 06 Jul 2010
Overall a good movie. It does lack the depth that the story deserved. I got the feeling that it was commercialized for the general public, and not 100% true to the original screenplay. That being said, it was entertaining and if you're into French and/or WWII dramas, it's worth a watch.

35 out of 100 Excellent drama
Eamon from Meath, 09 Apr 2010
This was a very strong drama with some excellent acting. The one problem was that at times maybe four different time lines were going on and so you couldn't afford to miss a line of dialogue. Two hours of concentration required...

40 out of 100 No longer a secret!
Avril from Cork, 30 Mar 2009
Film was quite good, the secret was not what I was expecting. Interesting film about choices made and the outcomes they created. Very well filmed, some really nice scenes. I would definitely reccommend this film.
