Patience is a virtue

With its big cast names like Ray Winstone,Ian Mcshane and John Hurt,i was expecting this film to be at the edge of your seat kind of thriller.Boy was i wrong..it was a very tedious film and i only watched it thru to the end to see what would happen to the lover. It ended in such a wierd way i was left stunned for that one and only reason. In fairness i found Ian Mcshane brilliant but that was where my praise for this film has to end but maybe it was not up to my expectations but everyone has taste

Class acting
Brian from Dublin, 13 Jul 2010
I do not read reviews of films i like to take a gamble, this one paid off.If i had read any of the other reviews i would have missed acting at its best. This is not a big action blood n guts movie, its called simply acting and at its best ,for you to decide.

Not great
Melinda from Cavan, 01 Jun 2010
I was expecting great things from this as I knew that the director, Ian McShane and Ray Winstone were all involved in Sexy Beast which is a brilliant film. This started well, but half an hour in I felt as if I was watching a play - and not in a good way. The acting is amazing, Ray Winstone is phenomenal - unravelling as he does in front of you, but the whole 'fantasy sequence' thing is pretty silly and the ending is very unsatisfactory. I also thought the French guy - whom the title refers to -

Bad dreams
Brock from Limerick, 14 Feb 2011
I could probably see what some people like about this film, but sadly I was not one of them. What could have been a great ensemble all seem to try and out do each other with dialogue and scenes that play like dreams. Now, dreams are great, but they are often out of sync, context and rarely have cohesion that ties them to anything, and this is exactly what I felt was the problem with this film. I always felt like an outsider watching this, like I wasn't invited, a bit like when someone tells you

What movie were you fools watching
Eddie from Kildare, 16 Dec 2010
Brilliant acting and dialogue. I don't know what planet the viewers who slagged off this movie are on but they were obviously expecting the same old Guy Ritchie style London gangster cliche. This is a very well acted movie. It is a bit play like but whats wrong with that? To those who didn't like this,Stick to car chase and shoot out style movies in future lads, you missed the point.

Dreadful
Ken from Tipperary, 10 Aug 2010
If you liked Lock Stock and any other London based gangster movie do NOT rent this. One of the worst movies I've had the misfortune of watching. I'm certainly not pruddish but the language is so over the top it completely loses all effect. As for the story all I can say is that watching paint dry would be riveting compared to this nonsense. Aviod!!
