More holes than a Polo-Mint factory.
Ciaran from Dublin, 08 Oct 2007
OK, I'll start by saying I liked '28 Days Later'. It was original in style and the energy of the Infected was very well done. Had a great post-apocolyptic feel to it too. So what's wrong with the sequel? Well, the idea is good, but that's about it. Visually similar but the camera leaps about even more and makes any of the actions scenes un-intelligible. But it's the gaping plausability holes that sink it - people doing stupid things, firebombs that don't go round corners etc etc. Just terrible.

Underwhelming sequel. Same zombies, this time with Yanks.

Shocking and memorable
John from Dublin, 24 Feb 2008
Very different from the first quiet, suspenseful movie, 'Weeks' should be called 'one day later' focusing as it does on a safe 'green' zone in London and the discovery of a latent carrier of the rage virus who could be the source of a cure. The the re-explosion of the virus into a confined, crowded space is predictable, but the shocking, violent manner of its re-emergence is not, as the city explodes in slaughter. We are cleverly and cruelly made to feel for the characters too - nightmare stuff.

...with the promise of '28 months later' to follow. Fans of '28 days later' won't be disappointed with this film which has suspense and gore in spades.

Its a zombie movie...not high art...
Tom from Wicklow, 12 Dec 2007
okay, you know what this is like so be prepared.its a bit overly gory in places but i found it a good sequel to the original. there is something horrific about zombies that can run fast!Robert Carlyle is peculiar here but IMHO he is one of the most underrated actors today & the initial scene of him shows how good he is . Some of the story are a little weak, but then again as i said this isnt an arty movie so dont go looking for deeper meaning here. if you like zomebie movies, you will like this

Very good but inevitably predictable
John from Donegal, 02 Nov 2007
Loved the original. This one is pretty much more of the same, but with a bigger budget. All the actors are excellent and believable, and the opening scenes were Carlyles characters makes the decision to leave his wife to her fate were realistic and disturbing. Sadly the film couldn't maintain this momentum and it settled into a more predictable gore-fest.
Well worth a look.

Dismal Sequel
Martin Barry from Galway, 06 Nov 2007
Apart from the first 15mins which might have been taken from the orginal movie, this film is very poor. Plot was very predictable, the infected were distant figures and not the fast moving up close rabid fiends from the orginal and the characters motives were superfical and random.
Save your brain and sleep instead of watching this movie, your dreams are likely to be scarier!
