In this film from director Danny Boyle and writer Alex Garland, a powerful virus is unleashed on the British public following a raid on a primate research facility by animal rights activists. Transmitted in a drop of blood and devastating within seconds, the virus locks those infected into a permanent state of murderous rage. Within 28 days the country is overwhelmed and a handful of survivors begin their attempts to salvage a future, little realising that the deadly virus is not the only thing that threatens them...

35 out of 100 These Zombies can run!
Ciaran from Dublin, 23 May 2007
Something of a mixed bag here. The openeing sequence of a deserted and waylaid London is haunting and extremely effective. What follows is some of the best Zombie action we have seen in a long while. However, once the plot moves north and the troops enter the fray the movie loses its way a bit and most of the memorable scenes are early on, which is a shame. Still, well worth a look.

40 out of 100 28 days later
peter from Westmeath, 20 Jan 2008
One of my favourite 'zombie' films. Great start even though the whole infected with rage thing is a bit silly but its a zombie flick so its allowed. Great images of a deserted London and I liked the way it looked filmed with digital cameras. Good story and plenty of action.

45 out of 100 Excellent
Mark from Dublin, 19 Dec 2007
A brilliant start and you can't put help wonder what if after the rather scary opening scenes of a supposed deserted world, does trail off as the story unfolds but still despite that a classic horror/zombie flick.

35 out of 100 not as good as the first!!!!!
Nuala from Dublin, 15 Jan 2010
Very gory and unnecessarily so. I didn’t like this because it was just like the first one but crap in the end. Where the first film is strong, believable, gripping... this hits notes of the “SLASHER MOVIE” and I feel betrays the original. Good acting, well made...but in the end...it’s a cop out, just gory and desaster with no hope
