127 Hours is the true story of mountain climber Aron Ralston's (James Franco) remarkable adventure to save himself after a fallen boulder crashes on his arm and traps him in an isolated canyon in Utah. Over the next five days Ralston examines his life and survives the elements to finally discover he has the courage and the wherewithal to extricate himself by any means necessary, scale a 65 foot wall and hike over eight miles before he is finally rescued. Throughout his journey, Ralston recalls friends, lovers (Clemence Poesy), family, and the two hikers (Amber Tamblyn and Kate Mara) he met before his accident. Will they be the last two people he ever had the chance to meet?

10 out of 100 One long trailer
Wesley from Limerick, 08 Aug 2011
If you've seen the trailer and know the story, don't bother getting. The movie just draws out what is a great story. There was no need to make a movie about it. A 20min documentary on Discovery would have done.

This is a great piece of movie making, so real, so raw. Also delves deep into his life as well as the terrible experience he goes through. Rent it, you will question your own life when you see it.

50 out of 100 Breathtaking
Christine from Kerry, 29 Dec 2011
I saw it before in the movies which is even MORE astonishing due to the big screen. But it is not only about the fabolous pics and camera handling of Danny Boyle but what is going on deep inside if you are trapped.... in life..... It is an amazing story, amazing actor, 10* movie!

Even though I knew the detail in advance I still found this an enjoyable movie. It illustrates what a person would do to stay alive.
